Who We Are
As members of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, we want you to be confident knowing that we are a group of highly trained and skilled medical specialists. An Ophthalmologist is a medical doctor and a key component of your health care team. Ophthalmologists typically complete 3-4 years of undergraduate University, followed by 4 years in medical school, and an additional 5 years in specialty training (at least 12-years of education). In addition, many Ophthalmologists spend an additional 1-2 years of training as a fellow to "sub-specialize" in an area such as pediatrics, glaucoma, cancer, or retina.
Whatever questions or concerns you have about your vision, we have you covered. Talk to your family doctor about the many family ophthalmologists who are accepting new patients today.
